Field Trip Information |
|
|
Each year students may participate in a number of school related field trips. A few reminders for parents regarding field trips are as follows:
- Please sign and return all permission slips for field trips promptly. Students must have signed permission from parents in order to travel off the school campus.
- Make sure you follow the lunch procedures closely. Often, teachers will request that students have a sack lunch. Orders for sack lunches from the cafeteria must be turned in at least two weeks in advance (teachers must make the request to the cafeteria for sack lunches).
- If not specified in the field trip permission slip, check with teacher to see if student should wear his/her school tee-shirt.
- Students will normally travel to and from all field trips via Metropolitan Nashville Public School buses. Certain rules apply for students riding buses. Teachers will go over the rules with their students prior to students boarding buses. Parents serving as chaperones on field trips may ride the bus; however, children who are not current Metro students may not ride the bus.
- Please keep in mind that we strive to allow as many parents as possible to chaperone on field trips. Due to the rising cost of buses, the number of parents who may be allowed to accompany on a field trip may be limited. Please check with your child's teacher prior to showing up at school to attend a field trip. We will strive to give all parents the opportunity to attend at least one field trip per year should they choose to do so.
