What Makes Our School Unique?

Jones Paideia Magnet is a welcoming, friendly learning community filled with competent, caring teachers, students and parents. We believe in the cohesiveness of school, community and home all working together to create the best learning for ALL of our students.
Our teachers strive to actively engage students in their own learning process by using a wide repertoire of instructional strategies geared to the needs of the students they serve. In addition, teachers use seminars and Socratic questioning to develop students' thinking skills and the appreciation of different ideas and values. Students have the opportunity to share their learning through a series of coached projects, which engage students in problem solving and the application of knowledge through a performance task. All of these strategies follow and embed the PAIDEIA philosophy throughout all areas of student learning.
Jones Paideia Magnet School is a wonderful place for children, parents and teachers to work together to change the world! We truly believe we are the BEST elementary school in town and invite you to see it for yourself. Please stop by for a visit and feel the enthusiasm for learning that we share on a daily basis!

Who Attends Our School?

Because Jones is a magnet school, any student living in Davidson County may apply to attend through the lottery. The school has a geographic priority zone (GPZ) allotting 30% of available seats to students residing in this area. All students interested in attending a magnet school must submit applications prior to the deadline. The lottery is held after the winter holidays. For more information about the lottery, call 259-INFO.
